Inma de Reyes is an award-winning filmmaker based in Edinburgh, Scotland, recognised for her work as a writer-director in documentary and factual film. Inma’s storytelling skills translate also into editing as she is a highly skilled editor with a wide range of technical abilities that make her work flow in synchronicity with her emotional connection to the story.

Known for creating bold, poetic films that explore themes of identity and belonging, she has developed a strong reputation within the Scottish film scene as a sensitive filmmaker that builds stories with strong emotional narratives.

Her debut feature The Boy and the Suit of Lights (2024) produced by Aconite Productions and Rustic Canyon Pictures won the Best First Feature award from the Grand Jury at Sheffield DocFest 2024.

Inma is bilingual (Spanish, English) and continues to develop projects in both languages- such as currently a hybrid drama with North Star Shorts, set in the outskirts of Edinburgh.

Aside from directing, Inma is an experienced facilitator and consultant working with communities and organisations to give voice to individuals with protected characteristics through filmmaking.
